Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Seattle at Los Angeles (10:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Seattle +5.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 137.5 -110 (risk 2 to win 1.8)

The Seattle Storm will open the WNBA Playoffs in Los Angeles. The Storm finished their second straight year with 20 wins or more. These teams are very close in terms of talent and on the season they definitely proved that. They met four times during the regular season with two of the games going into Overtime and a third ending in a two point win for the Sparks. These teams also averaged 153ppg between them in the four regular season games. I expect this one to be just like the regular season, a hard fought game between two teams that don't have a great deal in terms of separation in talent. The total also looks very low to me as over their last 12 games Seattle did not play to a total of under 140 and the Sparks did not play to a total under this number the entire second half of the season. These teams combined to play 10-6 to the over with a total posted at 140 or less during the season. The Sparks two playoff home games last year both went over and Seattle has played over in their first playoff game for each of the last four years, including last year vs the Sparks. This game looks like a buzzer beater to me going over the total.  My call is Seattle and OVER here.
