Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Houston at Chicago (4:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Chicago -196 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2)

Yes, Houston is a better team than Chicago overall. But, this game is being played in Chicago and that makes all the difference. At home, the Sky are a .500 team. on the road, the Comets have lost 13 of 16 games. The defense is the difference as Chicago holds opponents to a respectable 70.9 per game here while Houston gives up 78.5 on the road. If you look at how these teams are playing right now, the contrast is even more stark. Houston has given up 84.2 per game in their last five while Chicago has allowed just 69.4 - a fifteen point difference! Will they win by five or more? I'm not so shure. But, I really like the Sky to win this game outright.

Seattle has covered the spread in ten of the last twelve meetings between these clubs. But, I like the Los Angeles a lot at home here. The Storm are a great home team, boasting an unreal 16-1 record in Seattle. What does that cover up? The fact that they are just 6-10 on the road! Los Angeles is 11-5 at home with a 10-6 ATS record here. They have the offense to pull away from Seattle in this one and I think they will. The Sparks will take out some serious frustration here as they are coming off an 11 point loss to Atlanta. How bad was that loss? The Sparks were favored by 15! And, let's not forget that the Sparks have another motivation here - revenge. The Storm beat them by 18 the last time these two teams met. You can bet there will be no letting down here for LA and in fact, just the opposite as they have double-motivation for a smack down here. WNBA home favorites in this range, coming off a double-digit loss, are good for 64% ATS historically. LA is 7-1 this season at home vs. winning teams. And, they are a perfect 8-0 ATS revenging a road loss this year. I love the Sparks in this one.
