Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Washington at Connecticut (3:05 PM Eastern)

The Mystics are 3-0 and Connecticut just 1-1. So why are the Sun favored here? Because in the WNBA, the home court makes a world of difference. Washington should be drinking some of their own koolaid right about now and I think they get theirs in this game. The fact is, their stats are about average and they have benefited from two home games. At home this season, the Sun are 1-0 having won by 13 points. You can bet Connecticut will show up here. They can either go to 2-1 or 1-2 which is a huge difference. And, they are coming off a huge double-digit loss last game. They will be ready. Washington is just 8-19 ATS the past three seasons off a win (4-13 off a home win). Look for the Sun to roll here. I also like the OVER in this game. Both teams have shown they can score with Washington averaging 79 points per game and Connecticut 78 per game. The past two seasons, the Mystics are 9-2 OVER when coming off a home win. They are a perfect 7-0 OVER the past three seasons when coming off a double-digit home win. Connecticut is 11-2 OVER the past two seasons after a road loss and they are 9-1 OVER after a game in which they allowed 90+ points. Take the Sun and the OVER in this one.

Here again we have an undefeated 3-0 team taking to the road as a dog vs. a .500 home team. Again, the road team here has had the pleasure of playing two of their first three at home - a big advantage in the WNBA. New York is faced with the prospect of either getting to .667 on the season, or dropping to .333, so you can bet they will be leaving it all on the court here. The Liberty are 16-6 ATS the past three seasons when coming off a loss to a division rival. That includes a perfect 9-0 ATS mark when the loss came by double-digits. Overall in their history, this team is 19-4 ATS at home after suffering a 15+ point loss. Take New York here.

Chicago has started 0-3 so no one wants to touch this team. But, they are facing a team that is just 1-2. For a team that is an OT win away from being 0-3 themselves, this is too many points to lay. The reality is that the Fever have been outscored on the season and they are 0-1 at home. Indiana scored 92 points last game and this team is 110-21 ATS after scoring 80+ points the past three seasons. I like Chicago to keep it close enough to cover this spread. I also like the OVER here. Chicago has allowed 84 points per game on the season while Indiana has allowed 75 per game. Games with a total in the 140s with a home team that won the last meeting between the teams has gone OVER 66% of the time (79-41) the past three seasons. Take the Sky and the OVER here.
