Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Chicago at Atlanta (12:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Atlanta -5 (+100) (risk 3 to win 3)

There is no doubt the Atlanta Dream is an improved team as they stand at 3-3 on the season and are already 2-1 at home. It took the Dream 22 games to get their third win a year ago, and finished with just four. The addition of Chimique Holdsclaw has made a big difference as she is averaging 14 ppg and five boards, as well as the addition of Sancho Lyttle averaging 15 ppg and 8rpg. That is 30 ppg and 14 rpg that wasn't around last year for the dream. The Chicago Sky had a nice three game run, but all those games were on their homecourt and they are yet to find the win column on the road where they stand 0-3. It isn't just the losses on the road by the Sky, it is the fact they have been completely manhandled. They have lost by an average of 19 ppg. The Dream has made tremendous progress with key additions leading the charge, and I'll back them in this one.

The San Antonio Silver Stars have yet to cover a game and it is surprising, until you look at it up close. They had a great home record at 15-2 a year ago, but including the playoffs were a sub .500 team on the road. They are no different this year as they opened the season with four straight losses on the road and didn't cover any of them. It will be different getting back at home here with a very small spread. Phoenix is off to a roaring start at 5-2, but when you consider they are 5-1 at home and 0-1 on the road, they aren't as good as they appear at this point and they are also 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road. San Antonio plays defense, just like Seattle, and they repeatedly frustrated the Mercury.  I look for a similar result in this one, going with San Antonio here.
