Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:
Game: Connecticut at Seattle (10:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Connecticut +3 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
What makes for a good team in any league is being able to win on the road. The Connecticut Sun have the best record in the WNBA because they can play effectively on the road. They took the LA Sparks to OT in their only road blemish on the young season. They have three go-to type scorers all averaging 15+ a game in Lindsay Whalen, Tamika Whitmore, and Asjha Jones. Barbara Turner is posting double-digits as well, and has been a spark connecting on 41% from three. Seattle has been relying to much on Lauren Jackson, and the other top scorers are taking a lot of shots, they are connecting on under 40%. None of the top five are shooting even 30% from three. This Connecticut team has proven they can score, and score on the road, as well as win. We like them here to hand the Storm their first home loss of the season.

For many of the reasons we pointed out above, we think the Sun wins this one outright. Teams that have scored 70+ in five straight games are 225-129 (64%) straight-up the past decade. Seattle is just 15-26 the past three seasons vs. winning teams. Since last season, they are 5-11 vs. teams that score 77+ ppg. Connecticut for the outright win here.
