Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:
Game: Seattle at Houston (8:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Houston +2.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Houston has had a tough early schedule playing 6 of their first 8 on the road, so the 1-7 record sure doesn't tell the whole story here because they are 0-6 on the road. Seattle has parlayed a perfect 6-0 mark at home, but the road has not been friendly as they have logged just a 1-4 mark. Houston, 1-1 at home with the loss coming in OT, is more than competitive on their homecourt and Tina Thompson gives them a player that can take over a game down the stretch. Seattle has dropped 4 straight on the road now and the road defense is allowing just shy of 80ppg, which is a full 16ppg more than they allow at home. We like the Comets to come away with this one.
Game: Los Angeles Sparks at Sacramento (10:05 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Sacramento +2.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Could be a great spot to fade the Sparks as they are coming off a huge emotional win in OT vs Connecticut. Sacramento is actually out-shooting the Sparks on the season and have the firepower to sneak a win here at home. Kara Lawson and Nicole Powell have really been knocking down the 3's for the Monarchs and, if the Sparks aren't mentally ready here, they are going to find themselves not only in a game but on the losing end. Live dog here and we will back the Monarchs.
