Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Atlanta at New York (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 165.5 -110 (risk 4 to win 3.6)

The Atlanta Dream has come a long way since their horrible start just two years ago. The number here is a bit inflated on the total as the Dream went through a four game stretch where they were on fire offensively, averaging 95ppg. The before and after paints a much different picture as the Dream in their surrounding five games put up just 71.6ppg, not considering overtime. The Liberty has kept their last four opponents in the 70s and, following a straight up win, they have had a history of being on their game defensively as they have gone 19-7-1 to the UNDER. I'll play an inflated total to come up short and go with the UNDER here.

This is going to be a painful season for the Tulsa Shock. The team is not only transplanted from a declining market, and economy, in Detroit, but they have done so almost by embracing a new start. The Shock began the year with a total of ten new faces on their roster. San Antonio might not be as good as they were a couple years ago, but they are still a much better team than the Shock and are still a team that plays with a strong homecourt advantage. Tulsa has only had to head out and play on the road twice this season and, with a roster full of newbies, on the road in what will be a hostile environment.  I'm backing San Antonio in this one.
