Wnba Free Predictions - July 28, 2009Our WNBA picks are s-s-s-smokin so far this season! We are 53-37, at 59% for +40 units! Today, we are back on the WNBA floor with a trio of premium picks including a couple of 5-unit selections.
 Today's WNBA Basketball Picks: The Indiana Fever has looked like the team to beat in the WNBA this season, as they are 12-2 after an 0-2 start. The Washington Mystics are an improved team this season as well, but have had a lot of home cooking as they have spent the last two and a half weeks with the comforts of their homecourt, covering six games. It isn't going to be easy for Washington going on the road for the first time in seven games against the best team in the WNBA. The Mystics are still a growing team, and have had difficulties off a win as they are 1-5 ATS in their next game after tasting victory this season and 2-9 since last season. The Fever has turned away each of the last eight visitors. They have had three days off, and in that situation they have been even more lethal as they are 5-0 ATS in that situation. The Mystics have never fared well against the Fever as they are just 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings. Indiana is coming off a big loss and should take out their frustrations on an helpless Mystics club in this one.Game: Washington at Indiana (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 units on Indiana -330 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 1.5) The Indiana Fever are well rested and that is a situation that has made an already good team that much better. They have turned in five straight winners off three day's rest. Overall, they have been untouchable at home winning their last eight overall on their homecourt. The Mystics have dropped nine of their last ten to Indiana, and have also lost their last four at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Fever appear to be untouchable at home, and have had their way with the Mystics over the years. There is no reason to expect anything different here. The Mystics are just 18-52 straight-up lifetime vs. high-pressure teams like Indiana (those averaging 9+ steals per game - Indiana averages 11 per game). Indiana is motivated, coming off a 19 point loss to San Antonio. That makes a letdown very unlikely. And, The Fever are 11-3 the past three seasons straight-up coming off a double-digit loss. Yes, it's a large line but well worth it given all the factors as an upset win by Washington here is just not in the cards.Game: Los Angeles at Minnesota (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 152.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The oddsmakers have had trouble keeping pace with the accelerated scoring in the WNBA as we have seen the season tally reach 59% in favor of OVERS this season. A league that once saw teams struggle to average 70 points per game, with just one or two teams achieving that over a season, has risen to a league with all teams averaging 70+. The Minnesota Lynx is near the top of that offensive surge. When playing at home, they have posted 82.2 points per game at home, and reached 87 in a game earlier this year at Los Angeles. The Sparks have gotten healthier as the season has progressed, and after not going over 80 points in any of their first seven games, they have now toppled the 80-point mark in three of their last six. The Lynx sport a 48-18 mark to the OVER in their last 66 games can not be ignored here. And with six of the last seven between these clubs going OVER in games played at Minnesota, I'm going with the OVER in this one. Results: 1-2 WNBA Basketball Picks Resources:
