The Connecticut Sun have a beast in rookie center from UConn in Tina Charles who is averaging 16 points and 12 boards, and a lay-up for Rookie of the Year. They have unfortunately not parlayed her skills into a playoff position. The Sun started 8-3 and looked playoff bound, but have faltered in a big way from that team. Their first six at home saw them winning by a combined 83 points, but that team has left the building. The Sun are just 2-4 in their last six, but after dominating at home their last four show them with a combined scoring margin of +2 or a half point per game, and three of the four were vs. losing teams. It's been a tough year for the Sparks, but in spite of that, this is a good matchup for them as they lost to Connecticut by just 3 points at home - and that was when Connecticut was playing well. Revenge will be a big motivator here as the Sparks are 34-18 straight-up when revenging a loss over the last three seasons. The Sparks will catch the Sun off-guard, so I’m backing Los Angeles on the moneyline.
