Basketball Betting Pick - July 23, 2008

We picked-up the dog win yesterday as Seattle (+6.5) won on outright. Today we go with one matinee WNBA pick. 

Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: New York at Washington (11:30 AM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on New York -111 (moneyline) (risk 2 to win 1.8)

The Washington Mystics host the New York Liberty in a matinee today. The Mystics have not been a dominating force at home, where they have compiled just a 6-5 mark, but four of the five losses have come to teams with a winning record. So although they are winning the games they should at home, they are not faring well against the better teams in the league. After starting just 1-5 on the road the Liberty have become a much better team as they are now 3-2 over their last five road games. The Liberty have played their best basketball of the season lately logging wins over Connecticut and Detroit and beating this Washington team by 21, in the midst of a 3-1 run. We like the Liberty to come away with the road win in this one.
