Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Atlanta at Indiana (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 152 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Two teams that have made quantum leaps forward square off in Indiana as the Atlanta Dream are in town to face the Fever. The Fever, after an 0-2 start have rattled off 10 straigh wins and are by far the most improved team in the league. Atlanta isn't far behind as last year's four-win team has produced seven already on the season before the halfway mark. The Fever have been at home seven times during this run, and have been very defensive as they have allowed just 64.5 points per game. If that holds form here tonight, it would mean a nearly 90-point performance will be needed from the offense, something they have not achieved all season. The Dream has been a decidedly under team on the road, where they have produced seven of 10 to the UNDER. This one looks like it is set too high, so I'll be going with the UNDER here.

It is pretty evident that what this Silver Stars team was a year ago, they are not this season. They compiled the league's top mark at 24-10, but enter here at just 6-6, and have already dropped as many home games as they did all of last season. The Sun started slowly, but have turned the corner and have covered six of their last nine games. They have suffered four of their losses by five points or less and are rarely out of any game. The offense which was stagnent early in the season has gained consistency, and the points are flowing freely. The Silver Stars haven't been the defensive stopping unit from a year ago, and have become vulnerable to a competent team like the Sun. I'm going with Connecticut here.

The Seattle Storm took a big blow when leading scorer and rebounder Lauren Jackson went down to a calf injury. This is a thin Storm team to begin with, and that injury makes the depth even thinner. She takes with her the 20 ppg she has averaged in the three wins vs. Sacramento, and that in itself means that the Monarchs are playing with triple revenge and will be up for this one. The loss of points will hurt the Storm, but will hurt even more is the loss of her rebounding as the Monarchs are the top rebounding team in the league, and after a horrible start, they have played much better. I've gotta go with the motivated home team over an injured, and declining team from a year ago to begin with. Sacramento gets the call here. The Monarchs are also 7-2 to the OVER in their last nine off a day's rest. The Storm is 4-1-1 on the road and the last six to the OVER. I'm going with the OVER in this one as well.
