![]() Today's WNBA Basketball Picks: Most that see this line come out are chomping at the bit to get on Atlanta -2 at Minnesota. After all, the Dream are leading the East at 14-5 and own the second best record in the league, while Minnesota sits at 6-11, but hold on. The Lynx may be 6-11 but the West is so laden with poor teams they are just a half game away from making the playoffs at the midway mark. They are also a different team with Simeone Augustus back on the court. The Lynx have won four of their last six games and the two losses show a reason. They shot 29% in one game as well as 0-12 from deep, and in the other loss Augustus was 6-20. When she has had her "average" numbers or better they have won them all. Meanwhile, down in Atlanta the Dream opened 6-0 outscoring opponents by 83 points. They have played their last six games at home and have not been on the road since June 19th. This is a very thin team with four solid players and nothing else. The Dream is just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 and Minnesota has a huge incentive here playing at home, with revenge and a renewed playoff incentive with their star back. I like Minnesota here.Game: Seattle at Phoenix (3:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 177 -110 (risk 2 to win 1.8) The Seattle Storm sit atop the entire WNBA with a 16-2 mark coming into this game. The Phoenix Mercury, Champions last year, have fallen sharply and have not recorded a win vs a team with a winning record all season. The Storm is on top for one very good reason, they play defense and execute on offense. The total here is shockingly high, but the public doesn't think so as they are flocking to the over like they already know the final score, mainly because Phoenix is associated with offense. The last ten times Phoenix has played Seattle they have averaged just 81.6ppg not including overtime. To put that in perspective, Phoenix has scored more than that in 15 of their other 18 games this year, so Seattle slows them down. Also, Seattle has not allowed any team to score more than 84 points in regulation for 31 straight games and, if Phoenix gets 84, then Seattle needs 93 to push this over, something they have done one time their last 48 games without the aid of overtime. This one stays UNDER the total. Results: 1-1 ![]() WNBA Basketball Picks Resources:
