Wnba Basketball Pick - July 13, 2008

We won just one yesterday. We look to rebound today with three picks.

Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Connecticut at Washington (3:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Connecticut -170 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.4)

Connecticut is one of our top three teams while Washington is a bottom-three team. The Sun can score with anyone and their hot offense has gotten even hotter of late as they are averaging nearly 85 per game over their last five games. Washington simply doesn't have the horse-power to keep up. The Mystics are just 3-12 the past three seasons vs. elite offensive teams. While Washington might find a way to keep it close, we don't see much chance of Connecticut losing this game.

We were on Atlanta last game as they were getting double-digits from the Silver Stars. The Dream didn't dissapoint, covering the game. Tonight though we are going to fade them. Their mini-run over, and the linesmakers and public adjusting, the value on Atlanta might have been very short-lived. Chicago is looking for revenge here as they were the team to give Atlanta their first win of the season last Wednesday. That was humiliating for them. They lost by 7 on the road and are now asked to just cover a 5.5 number at home. With revenge as motivation, we think they do it. The fact remains that Atlanta is 2-18 and 1-8 on the road. These offenses are pretty even but Chicago's defense is markedly better. We also like this game to go UNDER thanks to the home team really focusing on defense. They allowed 91 to Atlanta last game and they won't want to let that happen again, not at home. Chicago is 6-3 to the UNDER at home this season and 9-1 UNDER revenging a loss!
