Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Los Angeles at San Antonio (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on San Antonio -3 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The LA Sparks have had a very disappointing season. They were supposed to be in the hunt for the WNBA Title, but won't be in the playoffs. They have been very poor on the road, where they have won but four times, and when you consider three of those were to New York, who sits at the bottom of the East, and two others to Sacramento, who sits at the bottom of the West, LA has just one win to show for their road efforts otherwise. It hasn't gone as expected for San Antonio either, but they remain a tough team at home, where they have knocked off Phoenix, Seattle, and Indiana all within the last month of the season. They should have no problems here, and I'll go with San Antonio in this one.

The Sparks are just 4-9 on the road. When you take a close look at the four road wins, it has been to teams that have a combined record of 28-48, and three of the wins were to teams sitting in the bottom of their respective conference, and the other to a team one up from the bottom. And all three have a losing record at home, and only four teams in the WNBA have losing records at home. They have lost to every team on their schedule with a winning home record, and I'll go with San Antonio on the moneyline in this one.

The New York Liberty had a golden opportunity on the road as they led Connecticut by 12 at the half, and led after three quarters, but fell apart in the second half and down the stretch. This time they get the Sun at home, and they are full of revenge for a game in which they outplayed the Sun, but let slip away. The Sun have been scoring big lately at a 81.4 points per game in their last 10, but they have been giving it up as well at 78.8 ppg. The Liberty has cashed 26 of their last 36 after a straight-up loss, and have played to the OVER in each of their last five home games. The Sun are just 4-7 on the road, and the Liberty are playing with a revenge motive and should exact it in this one. And with the Liberty going over in each of the last five at home, and the Sun's last 10 scoring nearly 160 on average, I'm going with New York on the moneyline, and the OVER in this one.

The Phoenix Mercury will likely be the top seed in the West, and rightfully so. They got off to a very quick start at 12-4 and have been on cruise control since. The wins came easily, as 10 of the first 12 were by seven points or more. The wins haven't come so easy in the last 10 games, as the 12-4 start has been reduced to 6-4 in the last 10. Their 13-4 ATS start has been reduced to 6-4 as well. They have only faced a pointspread higher than this once all season, so while they aren't playing as well as they were earlier in the season, that start puts them up against a big number and the value turns to Washington. The Mystics have seen their biggest underdog role to be from 5.5 to 7.5, and they have faced games in this range seven times this season, and they have a perfect 7-0 ATS mark in the seven games. Too many points, so I'm going with Washington here.
