Today's WNBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Washington at Atlanta (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 161 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

This is a very pivotal game for Washington, sitting one game behind Indiana for the final playoffs spot, and two games behind the leader Atlanta. That usually means a big defensive effort by the Mystics. This is a team that has held 10 opponents already this season to 65 points or less. When you consider the fact that every team in the league averages at least 75 points per game, that is a pretty eye-opening stat. Atlanta can score, but if you look at the two previous meetings on the season, the Dream has not been able to top the 75-point mark without overtime, and with more on the line here in this one I expect at least the same. I'll go with the UNDER here.

It has been a tough year for the Minnesota Lynx. They lost Simeone Augustus for about half the season, and just when she returned, down goes Candace Wiggins with a season-ending injury. While Augustus gave this team a lift for awhile, she can't do it alone as the Lynx have now lost five out of six. They had their own little championship game, something to take away from the season, when they beat Seattle by one in their last game. That is likely to leave a team that is going nowhere as flat as a pancake for this one. Time is running out on the Sun as they need every win they can get, so this becomes a must win vs. a poor team that projects to be flat in this spot. Connecticut gets the call.
