Free Wnba Pick Sports - August 01, 2010We hit the ladies' hardwood today with a trio of premium picks, including a 4-unit selection. Over the last six weeks, our WNBA premium picks are 31-19 for a 62% clip, good for +30 units. After a slow start, we are in the midst of another profitable season at 48-40 (after going 121-90 for +55 units last season). Not a bad way to build that bankroll for the upcoming football season eh?
![]() Today's WNBA Basketball Picks: The Fever have held opponents to 71 points per game this season. What's interesting about that is that these teams average 78.6 per game. That means Indiana is shaving nearly 8 points per game off their opponents' average. I think they will be coming with some extra defensive intensity here to atone for an embarrassing loss to Washington last game - a game in which they were favored by 7 points. The Fever are in fact a perfect 8-0 UNDER when coming off a loss in a game in which they were favored by 6+ points. Meanwhile, Atlanta is 7-1 UNDER this season after back-to-back games in which they hoisted up 70+ shots. I like this game to go UNDER.Game: Tulsa at Washington (4:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Tulsa +12.5 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6) No one wants to touch the Shock, a team that is 4-21 SU and 7-18 ATS on the season. This team is allowing over 90 points per game on the season and 98 per game over their last five. The oddsmakers know this and have to provide a hefty line to get any action. But should the Mystics be laying 12.5 points? This team has lost five of their last seven SU and ATS. The Mystics are off a win and that can spell complacency, especially against a team as bad as Tulsa. Washington is just 13-25 ATS the past three seasons when coming off a win. When coming off an upset win as an underdog, they are just 30-48 ATS lifetime. I like Tulsa plus the points.Game: Seattle at Minnesota (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Minnesota +6 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Seattle is making all kinds of news in the WNBA community. They have won 13 straight and at 22-2 they are off to the second best start in WNBA history. When that thing happens (in any sport), you can be pretty sure there is value in fading them ATS. And this seems to be bearing fruit. After a torrid start to the season losing only five of their first 17 games ATS, they have covered the spread in just three of their last seven games. They should win this game for sure, but how motivated are they to deliver a road blowout? They are facing the lowly Lynx - a team that is just 7-16 on the season including 4-8 at home. The interesting thing about Minnesota though, is that they can score. They have averaged 82.7 ppg in their division games and 83.4 overall over their past five. When these teams met in July, Minnesota lost by only 2 points. And, over the past two seasons, the Lynx are 9-2 ATS at home revenging a same-season loss. I like the home team to keep it close enough here. Results: 1-2 ![]() WNBA Basketball Picks Resources:
