Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: Pittsburgh at Phoenix (10:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Phoenix -1.5 goals +270 (puckline) (risk 2 to win 5.4)

The Penguins will head to the desert to and face-off with the Phoenix Coyotes in NHL Thursday night action. Pittsburgh is making a bid to return to the NHL Finals, where they lost to Detroit last year. While they have out-scored their opponents at home 8-2 in their last couple of games, the road has brought a different fate for them. They lost in a shootout to the Rangers and most recently they dropped a 2-1 decision to San Jose. The Coyotes have lost their last three on the road, where they have spent most of the early season, but are 2-1 at home, playing much better. The Penguins have had to do a lot of travelling, and have not been producing on the road of late, so I'll take the value on the puckline with a Coyote team that plays much better at home.
