Free Nhl Predictions - October 27, 2008

We passed on last night's NHL action, but we went 5-1 for +6.8 units on Saturday. One premium NHL pick tonight.

Game: Anaheim at Columbus (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Columbus +113 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 3.4)

The Blue Jackets won their opener on the road, but have dropped their last four traveling, but will be glad to return to home ice tonight where they carry a 2-1 mark on the early season. Since that opener they have been out-scored on the road 16-7 in the four games, but have been a different team at home where they have logged a 10-8 goal advantage. The Ducks have won three straight on the road, but this will be their fourth game in seven nights - all on the road and a good spot for the travel to catch-up to them, especially against a team showing early value at home. The road wear and tear is evident in the Ducks 3-9 mark when playing on just one night's rest, so I like the Blue Jackets on home ice in this one.
