Free Nhl Hockey Picks - October 24, 2008

We went 1-2 last night as we hit with Phoenix, but missed with them on the puckline and on our total play. One pick form the NHL ice today.

Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: New York Rangers at Columbus (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 5 -120 (risk 2 to win 1.7)

The Rangers head west to take on the Blue Jackets tonight in NHL action. The Rangers jumped out to a quick 5-0 start, but have been faltering of late. The Rangers have found success because they have been able to score on the road where they are averaging 3.3 goals per game. They have also seen their road games average 6.3 goals a game. The Blue Jackets have certainly been able to score as they have averaged 3.3 goals a game themselves, but the problem is they can't stop anyone. The Jackets have allowed 23 goals in six contests, or just shy of four goals a game. A Rangers team that is scoring, and add in the fact that they will enter this one well rested having had three days between games as they have been 13-5 to the OVER off of three days rest. Take that against a Blue Jacket team that has seen 7.5 goals a game trickle through the nets says OVER is the play here.
