Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: Chicago at Vancouver (10:00 PM Eastern)

The Blackhawks have won six straight but they must face a Vancouver team here that is 8-2 at home. Chicago is just 4-5 on the road. The Canucks are powering in 3.7 goals per game at home, allowing just 1.9 in the process. This season Vancouver is a perfect 7-0 vs. teams at .600 to .750 and over the last two seasons they are 10-4 vs. teams that allow 2.5 or fewer goals per game. I like Vancouver to end Chicago's nice run here. I also like the UNDER a lot. While both of these teams can score, they also own great defenses. Chicago gives up 2.2 per game on the road while Vancouver gives up 1.9 per game at home. This will be an intense game with defense playing a strong role. The Canucks are 19-10 UNDER since last season at home vs. teams good teams (those outscoring their opponents by .3+ goals per game). That includes a 5-0 UNDER mark vs. the best (those outscoring opponents by 0.7+ gpg). Chicago is coming off back-to-back OVERs but this team is 31-16 UNDER the past three seasons in that situation. That includes a perfect 6-0 UNDER mark ont he road after three straight OVERs. I like Vancouver in a low-scoring affair.
