Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: New Jersey at Philadelphia (7:05 PM Eastern)

The New Jersey Devils are now 9-0-0 on the road this season while they have been just an average team at home, standing at 5-4. That certainly gets your attention and respect, but they will have difficult obstacle trying to stay unbeaten tonight in Philly. The Flyers have dropped just one game in their last six, and already own a 5-2 win on the season against the Devils. The Flyers have rebounded very strong in a game after they scored two goals or more as they have been 25-10 in the game following that poor offensive showing. The Devils have gotten into some low-scoring games after scoring five or more as their game following has seen seven straight UNDERS. This has been a favorite-laden series with the chalk now bringing home the bacon to a 20-7 mark, as well as the home team scoring the cash to a 19-7 mark in the last 26. The Devils bring a 35-14-2 UNDER mark into this one in their last 51 games and are 20-6-2 to the UNDER after a win. The Flyers will be out to pin a loss on the Devils and have a good track record after a bad offensive showing in their last game. I like Philly and the UNDER here.

The Penguins can't score right now. They put up six goals last game, but in the four games prior, they scored a total of three goals. They've lost four of five games and something just isn't right. In their last five games Pittsburgh has been outscored by an average score of 1.8 to 4.4. This is a revenge game for the Ducks, who are 22-13 in this situation dating back to last season. I like Anaheim here.

Pittsburgh has been getting crushed of late and asking them to win this game by 2+ goals is simply asking too much. Pittsburgh came into Anaheim and won 4-3 two weeks ago. Dating back to last season, the Ducks are 22-13 vs. the puck line revenging a same-season loss. Meanwhile, the Penguins are 54-92 vs. the puck line over the past decade after allowing 4+ goals in back-to-back games. I like Anaheim to at least keep this close.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been flawless at home and now head to Phoenix as a road team that is not nearly as potent, entering here at 2-4-2 on the road. The Lightning is outscoring opponents by seven goals on the season on home ice, but on the road they have been getting blitzed as they have been outscored by a 2-1 ratio, at 15 for and 30 against. The Lightning’s woes as a dog are epidemic as they are a woeful 25-71 in their last 96. The Coyotes are taking care of business on home ice at 11-5 in their last 16 will pin yet another loss on a dog with little bite. I’m Phoenix in this one.
