Hockey Betting Pick - November 13, 2008
We went 2-1 yesterday hitting with two totals to grab just over two units. Over the last two days our NHL picks are hitting 57% and we look to add to that today with three more premium picks.
Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Montreal at Boston (7:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Both of these teams are off to big starts which is developing into a three-team race in the NHL Northeast. Both of these squads have gotten superb net play, and Montreal will enter this one fresh off a Carey Price home shutout of Ottawa. Meanwhile, Boston has been the stingiest team in the NHL in their last seven games. The Bruins have allowed just eight goals, or barely over one per game. Boston is 35-16-4 to the UNDER when an opponent allowed two goals or less in their last game, while Montreal has been 9-3-2 in the same situation. Expect a hard-checking game and not much scoring, so the UNDER gets the call in this one.
Game: Philadelphia at Pittsburgh (7:35 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Philadelphia +147 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 4.4)
The Penguins return home tonight after an intense, grueling performance against the Red Wings who kept them from the Stanley Cup last season. The Penguins won an emotional 7-6 decision that needed OT to decide. Just a day prior to that emotional win, the Penguins were extended to a shootout against the New York Islanders. It is hard to believe this Penguins team has anything left in the tank for this one, both physically and emotionally, and presents us with a live dog here in the Flyers. The Flyers have rebounded from a dismal start where they failed to record a win in their first six games, but have since been on the plus side in five of eight. Coming off a win over the Islanders, Pittsburgh will be feeling good and focused playing the Stanley Cup runner-up. Live dog here, so I'm backing the Flyers.
Game: Calgary at San Jose (10:35 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Shark Tank has been producing nothing but wins as San Jose has not tasted defeat in 10 outings on home ice. A lot of the success is credited to just 19 goals scored against them in the 10 games, or just 1.9 per contest. After a rugged start, the Flames have put eight of their last 12 in the win column as well. The Flames have had a lengthy history of playing tough, low-scoring affairs after a win, where they are 20-6-2 to the UNDER. San Jose has tightened up against teams with a winning record as they have recorded UNDERS at the rate of 5-1-1 against winning teams. I'll ride with the UNDER in this one.
