Nhl Pick - November 12, 2008We hit the ice today with three premium plays. ![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Coyotes invade Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are on a bit of a roll here as they have now won three straight, all at home, and will look to make it four straight tonight against the Coyotes. The Coyotes have fared well on the season at home, but the road has been a completely different story where they have dropped four of their last five. It isn't so much the losses as it is the extent of the losses. They just have not been competitive being outscored 17-9 or by a full two goals a game. The Coyotes are just 9-19 in their last 28 vs the Central and a staggering 17-42 vs an opponent that allowed two goals or less in their last game. Blue Jackets are playing well and will be playing for revenge tonight. This is a good spot for the puckline and I'll play the Jackets here on the puckline. Game: Boston at Chicago (8:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Bruins head to Chicago tonight to face off with the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks are on a serious roll and have yet to taste defeat on home ice this season, other than a pair of shootouts. The strength of their team at home has been behind the net and on defense. Outside of a sub-par performance vs the Redwings, the Blackhawks have allowed just 11 goals in seven games or just 1.57 per game. The Bruins have had some offensive issues on the road where in their last four have netted just six goals or 1.5 a game. The good news for them is they have been getting solid net play in those four road games allowing just six goals as well. This game has the makings of a hard checking physical matchup, with teams getting stellar goaltending and I'll grab the UNDER here. Game: Colorado at Vancouver (10:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -120 (risk 3 to win 2.5) Vancouver has taken three straight on home ice and will look for their fourth tonight against the visiting Avalanche. Roberto Luongo has been unbelievable behind the net as he has recorded three straight shutouts and four in his last six. It is a good thing because the Canucks aren't scoring much themselves averaging just 2.25 goals a game so far on the four played in this homestand. Colorado comes in after a Peter Budaj shutout of their own, so the play behind the net has been extremely strong for both of these teams. The Canucks offense has been sputtering as well as they have found the net just nine times in their last six. Struggling offenses vs lights out goal tending spells UNDER and that's my call here. Results: 2-1 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
