Nhl Hockey Predictions - November 10, 2008

Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: Tampa Bay at Washington (7:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Except for a pair of shootout losses the Washington Capitals have not lost a game at home on the season. It goes a long way to say they have been good at the defensive end as they have only netted 18 goals in their last eight games. Tampa Bay has played well on the road, but this team has struggled to find the net all season, as they have topped the three goal mark in just one of 13 games. Combine this with the fact that the Capitals are having problems of their own scoring goals in their last eight games, and we have the makings of a low-scoring game here. It is also supported by the fact that these teams have played UNDER in four of their last five matchups, and the Caps are 22-9 to the UNDER in their last 31 after a win. When travel weary, playing the fourth game in a six-day stretch, the Lightning are 4-0 to the UNDER. I'll back the UNDER here.
