Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Detroit at Pittsburgh (8:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Detroit -106 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 4.7)
Well, we were wrong last game when we went strong on Detroit. Pittsburgh showed up in a big way, took advantage of home ice, and won the game. We're coming right back with another 5-unit play on the Red Wings here. As we stated last time, this team really is much better than Pittsburgh. No disrespect to the Penguins as they are a great team with a great future. They got one but we feel that could very well be their lone win in this series. Expect a renewed effort by the Red Wings who don't take kindly to losing. We won't go through the stats again, but Detroit simply doesn't give up many goals. We see them getting to 2-4 goals in this game and you can bet they don't allow 3 two games in a row. The fact remains that Detroit controls the puck nearly all game. They are 15-3 this season after three straight games getting 33+ shots on goal and we expect a bounce-back from the loss and a road win here.
