Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Detroit at Dallas (8:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Detroit -120 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 4.2)
Detroit took care of business, as predicted, in games one and two. Now the linesmakers and-or the public seem to think that Dallas has about an equal shot at winning here at home. We disagree. Detroit is much better, and on a mission. Let's not forget that Dallas had to pull a couple of upsets to even get here. Detroit is just a lot better team. In games one and two, the Red Wings outshot the Stars 65-39! They have a better road record than Dallas' home record. On the season the Wings allowed just 2.3 goals per game on the road and in the playoffs they have been nearly impenatrable (1.9 goals per game allowed overall). Dallas is expected to perform better at home, and likely they will, but how much better? Their offense has completely stalled, averaging just 1.4 goals per game over their last five. Detroit is 48-15 this season coming off a win and 12-3 on the road after having won 3+ straight games. At this price, we love the Wings.
Game: Detroit at Dallas (8:05 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Detroit -1.5 goals +240 (puckline) (risk 3 to win 7.2)
We think there's a good shot at Detroit winning by 2+ goals and at this kind of price, there is definitely value on them at -1.5 goals.

We were all over Detroit in game one on the moneyline and puckline as they won 4-1. This moneyline has gotten a bit out of hand and we don't think there's value in backing Detroit at greater t...

Philadelphia in the playoffs have continued what they did in the regular season - score a lot while playing mediocre defense. They averaged 3.1 goals per game in the regular season and they ahve boost...

It's no surprise we like the way the Penguins are playing right now. They suffered their first setback last game as they were shut out in New York. No worries. We think that will motivate the...
