Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: Carolina at Montreal (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Carolina +150 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 4.5)

The Carolina Hurricanes endured a 14-game winless streak, and went through a stretch where they were on the right side of the outcome in just 7 of 34 games. They have since rebounded nicely, coming out on the right side of 23 of their last 37. Certainly a team that is much better than the perception generated by their record. Montreal has been playing poorly off a six-game streak without a loss, to drop four of their last five games. The Canadiens are just 20-44 in their last 64 when facing an opponent who allowed 2 goals or less in their last game, while the Canes are 8-3 vs. an opponent who scored 2 or less in their last game in their last 11 in this situation. This is also a favorite road stop for the Canes as they are 11-2 in their last 13 visits to Montreal. I'll go with Carolina here.
