Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Dallas at Phoenix (10:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Dallas -105 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 2.9)
The Phoenix Coyotes have been a mess since the end of January. This team basically played a respectable .500 hockey up until that point, but since then have been an awful 7-20. The problem has been scoring as 67% of those 27 games have seen the Coyotes score two goals or less. The Stars have not exactly been burning up the win column, dropping eight of their last 10. That is a bit deceptive however, as those eight losses have come at the hands of teams that are a combined 106 games above .500, and seven of the eight losses were to teams over .500 - a most difficult stretch of games for sure. That won't be the case in this one. The Stars have shined after a three goal or more loss by coming back and going 17-7-2 in their next game. The Coyotes have been poor vs. teams with an under .500 record on the season having won just once in their last eight against them. The Stars have also owned the ice in Phoenix, as they have won eight of the last 11 here. Dallas gets the call in this one.
