Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: Minnesota at St. Louis (6:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Game Total OVER 5 -130 (risk 4 to win 3.1)

Both of these teams are fighting for a playoffs spot, and both are morphing lately from their standard play. While Minnesota has been all about defense and a lack of offense most of the season, they have opened things up. Over their last nine games they have allowed 3.3 goals per game. They've also managed to score 3+ goals in four of those games. St. Louis has scored or allowed 4+ goals in five of their last six games! When facing a losing team the past two seasons, the Blues are 35-20 OVER. This season they are 25-12 OVER after a game in which they went OVER. I like this one to go OVER the very low total.
Game: San Jose at Anaheim (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Anaheim +110 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 3.3)
The home team has won all three prior games in this series this year and I expect that to continue. The Ducks need this game more as they are on the outside looking in while San Jose has a playoff berth all but locked up. San Jose continues to struggle on the offensive end as they are averaging just 2.4 goals per game over their last five and 2.4 per game all season in division games. At home they are unbeatable but on the road they are simply a .500 team. This season the Sharks are 11-14 vs. teams that average 30+ shots on goal per game. I like the Ducks here.

Results: 1-1

Pittsburgh has strung together six straight wins. Maybe it has done some good getting out of town as their last five wins were on the road. The Penguins have not nearly been the same team they were la...

Boston is just as good on the road as they are at home. On the road they have compiled a 21-12 record, thanks to holding opponents to just 2.1 goals per game. The Rangers play pretty good defense too,...
