Guys, the NHL performance since returning from the Olympic break (and even before that) has been horrible. I apologize. Yes streaks (good and bad) are part of sports betting. But, that is no consolation when we are in the midst of a bad losing run. Those who have been on all season are still way up, but I know that doesn't apply to all of you. This too will pass (it always does). The Chicago Blackhawks have been a very difficult team to beat in Chicago, where they have suffered just six losses on the season. They have really gotten it done on the defensive end, and in front of the net. The Blackhawks have allowed a stingy 43 goals in their last 20 played on home ice. That is just a tick above 2 per contest. The Canucks are an orphan team due to the Olympics, and amazingly this will be their 11 straight road game. The Canucks scored 6 their last time out, and after scoring 5 or more they have failed to go over the total in their next game six straight times. This is the Blackhawks’ third game in four nights, and the last five times four have gone UNDER in that situation. This series has also seen four of the last five go UNDER in Chicago. I'll play this one UNDER the total.

The Devils are rebounding from a 15-game stretch that saw them come out on the wrong side of 11 of them. They were really in an offensive slump, scoring just 2 goals per game during the 15-game slide. They have rebounded with two wins in their last three, scoring 11 times in the process. That is a big change because during the 15-game slide, they never managed three consecutive game total goals scored of more than 8, so the offense is hot right now and they have also been 8-2-2 to the OVER in their last 12 vs. the West. This is a rather low total for a team heating up on offense, so I'll go with the OVER here.
