Nhl Hockey Picks - March 05, 2008
Tonight we have one NHL pick in the late game.
Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Ottawa at San Jose (10:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Ottawa +140 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 4.2)
Ottawa started the season 15-2 but have since lost first place to Montreal. They are struggling right now but we like their chances to get the upset win here. The Senators have been playing way below their potential while San Jose has been playing way above theirs. A correction is due. The fact is, these teams are pretty evenly matched so getting one team at +140 spells value. Ottawa is 21-9 on the road after having lost 4+ of their last five games. San Jose is just 6-12 in post-All Star play at home vss. winning teams since last season. They are 7-10 vs. teams that allow 2.9+ goals per game this season and 7-12 as a home favorite of -200 or less. They are also 7-11 at home off a win. We'll take the Senators here.

These are definitely a couple of low-scoring teams. But, we don't see this one staying below 5 goals. Columbus has scored 3+ goals in four of their last five while allowing 4+ in two of them. Calg...

Anaheim is on a roll since the return of Teemu Selanne, having won ten of eleven. Ottawa has dropped three of four and seven of ten, resulting in the loss of their coach. So why do we like the Senator...

Columbus' playoff hopes are waning. They need to win to have a hope and we think they will find a way to get 2 to 3 goals here tonight. Edmonton should have no trouble adding enough to push this o...

Peter Forsberg is back with the Avs but likely won't play tonight. LA has found some offense of late and we look for a possible Colorado letdown tonight. The Avs are coming off a road trip in whic...

Detroit gets Brad Stuart back here. They have won six straight vs. San Jose and they remain very good at home. We don't see them dropping four straight here. The Sharks are winless in six tries th...
