Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: Pittsburgh at Detroit (8:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Detroit -1.5 goals +119 (puckline) (risk 3 to win 3.6)
We have been all over the Red Wings in this series and it's treated us to a 3-1 mark. Their victory on the road in game four could very well be the nail in the coffin for the young Penguins. Pittsburgh mustered the energy and emotion to win a game at home in game three but in the end, skill and experience is winning out over youth. The Penguins will have their time but right now it's about the old guard. The Wings now return home where they are 38-13. They want to put it away here in front of the home crowd. How can Pittsburgh get up enough to overcome the skill and emotion that will be a part of this game for the Wings? Detroit's defense is just too good, especially in this building. They have effectively shut down the hottest offense in the league and two mega super stars in Malkin and Crosby. They have given up just 1.0 goals per game over their last five games and 1.7 in playoff games overall. They are 51-17 this season off a win. We aren't laying -250 but we'll gladly take +119 for the 2+ goal win.
