Game: New York Islanders at Atlanta (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Atlanta -115 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 2.6)
New York is a good home team but on the road they are allowing 3.1 goals per game and stand at 13-18. Atlanta hasn't been playing well of late but this is a game in which they can get healthy. Favorites off three straight losses in the second-half of the season do very well. The Islanders are just 10-22 this season vs. poor defensive teams (those allowing 30+ shots per game on goal). They are also 2-10 vs. poor offensive teams (those averaging under 27 shots per game).
Game: New York Rangers at Carolina (7:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Rangers have held six of their last seven opponents to 3 goals or less, allowing an averag of just 2.0 goals per game over that stretch. Their offense has been clicking but Carolina should be able to keep them down enough. The past two seasons, New York is 84-61 UNDER on the road and 58-33 UNDER vs. teams allowing 2.9+ goals per game.
Game: Chicago at Dallas (8:30 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -130 (risk 3 to win 2.3)
Dallas has allowed 2.2 goals per game at home this season and over their last five games they have cut that down to just 1.8. Chicago this season is 8-2 UNDER vs good defensive teams (those allowing under 27 shots per game). Under Dave Tippett, the Stars are 55-40 UNDER off a road win. We look for a low-scoring affair here as Dallas' stingy defense remains so.
Game: Los Angeles at Edmonton (9:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 5.5 -130 (risk 3 to win 2.3)
Both of these teams have gone OVER in four of their last five games. LA's last five games have averaged 7.4 goals while Edmonton's have averaged 6.8. Los Angeles is 21-12 OVER this season coming off an OVER and 27-15 OVER the past two seasons after scoring 4+ goals last game. Edmonton is looking for revenge and they are 11-1 OVER this season revenging a home loss. These teams combined for 9 goals in their last game while allowing another 9. We look for the fireworks to continue here.
