Yes, San Jose's scoring has fallen off of late. But, their defense has fallen off in lock-step. The Islanders have found some offense and their defense has suffered concurrently. Islanders games are averaging 7.0 goals per game over their last five. This low line of 5 is an overreaction to their season-long tendancy to go UNDER. But, something has changed and the value is now on the OVER. We see this one getting to 6+ goals.

The Red Wings haven't lost to Colorado yet this season and we see them holding true to that tonight. Colorado has managed just two goal in three games vs. Detroit thus far. Yes, Detroit is struggling right now. They have been without Brian Rafalski, Daniel Cleary and Niklas Kronwall but they expect Rafalski back for this one. Colorado is also struggling, having lost three straight. Don't worry about the fact that this game is in Colorado. Detroit is 4-1 here the past three seasons. Let's not forget that Detroit is 20-11 on the road this season, so getting them at -130 is rare and valuable. Favorites off 3+ straight losses facing a team off a loss win 70% of the time in the NHL (136-56 over the past five seasons). And, under Mike Babcock, this team is 74-39 vs. winning opponents. We like Detroit to bounce out of their slump with a win tonight.
