Nhl Pick - February 16, 2009
We missed the mark on Sunday's NHL pick. Today we are back with a pair of NHL premium plays...
Today's NHL Hockey Picks:
Game: New York Rangers at St. Louis (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -130 (risk 3 to win 2.3)
The Rangers are catching a lot of heat and jobs are soon going to be on the line. Yesterday might of been rock bottom as they gave up a goal to the Flyers while skating with a 5-3 advantage. The Rangers offense right now is bad as they simply can't put the puck in the net, especially on the road where they have managed just 14 goals in their last 11 games. That works out to a paltry 1.27 a game. That will put a lot of pressure on the Blues to score five goals to put this game over, something they have managed in just five of their last 51 games, and just three times in their last 23 home games. It is no wonder that the Rangers have produced UNDERs in 13 of their last 16 road games. Unless the Rangers do something they haven't done in months and bring good offense on the road, this one goes UNDER the total.
Game: Ottawa at Nashville (8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -140 (risk 2 to win 1.4)
The Predators have been an UNDER machine, as they have produced UNDERS in 17 of their last 24 games at home. Overall, they have played an amazing 28 of their last 40 to the UNDER. It is a product of a team that doesn't score consistently and gets superb goaltending. The rarity is when they score and give up a lot in the same game. The Predators have scored two goals or less in 21 of their last 31 games. Ottawa has played 24-11-2 to the UNDER following a win. When playing against the Central, they have played seven straight UNDERS. I like this one to follow suit and play to the UNDER as well.
