Game: Phoenix at Tampa Bay (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 6.5 -128 (risk 4 to win 3.1)

These teams haven't met since December 2005. We expect a bit of trepidation and feeling out in the first period. Tampa Bay has gone UNDER 16 of 23 home games this season and right now they are playing great defense (2.0 per game allowed over last five). Versus teams that average 2.9+ goals per game, they are 12-5 UNDER at home. Phoenix is scoring just 2.0 and giving up 2.4 per game over their last five.

This matchup obviously favors the Sharks. But, we think St. Louis has an excellent shot at keeping the game close. Of late, San Jose's powerful defense has faltered. They have allowed 3.5 goals per game over their last six games, losing four of them. St. Louis has shut out two of their last four opponents, posting two wins. So, this has the makings of a low-scoring affair in which getting 1.5 goals is very big.

In their last five games, Atlanta is just 1-4 but they have gone UNDER the total just once. THey are allowing 4 goals per game over that span and this defense has been suspect all season long. Calgary puts up 3.5 goals per game on the year at home and over their last five games, the Flames are allowing 3.6 per game. The Thrashers are 12-4 OVER the past two seasons vs. non-conference opponents. We like this one to sail over.
