Nhl Picks - February 12, 2009We hit on both of our picks last night to scoop another +6.1 units. Our NHL picks are 59%, 13-9 over the past week and a half for +13.6 units. Today we are back with another three NHL premium picks.
![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Senators have done a good job on home ice, but have not traveled well. There is a big reason why as the Senators have been able to mange just 45 goals in their last 23 on the road, working out to less than two a game. The Flyers have been a tough team to beat at home and have been playing tight crisp hockey. The last 14 games have seen the total go 10-3-1 to the UNDER in Flyers’ games. The Senators lack of scoring has been even more pronounced against good teams. When they have taken to the road against teams that are .600+ at home, they have played UNDER to a 36-17-2 mark. I like this one to go UNDER. Game: Florida at Carolina (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Carolina -134 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 3) The Hurricanes have been logging the frequent flyer miles of late as they have been on the road in 10 of their last 13. They did a respectable job on the road, which is a healthy sign for this team, as they have won five of their last six at home. The Panthers have managed to claim the win in just four of their last 11 on the road. Their history is brutal when they face a team with a winning record at home, as they are a woeful 37-106-9 in their last 152 games. The Panthers never fare well against the Hurricanes, as they are just 8-20 in the last 28 meetings, so I'm backing Carolina in this one. Game: Minnesota at Detroit (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -120 (risk 2 to win 1.7) The Wild has been involved in five shutouts either for or against in their last 16 games. Their last 21 games have seen the UNDER go 18-8-3, and 15 of their last 21 games have featured games where the goals scored has not exceeded five. The Redwings’ net-minder Ty Conklin has recorded five shutouts his last 15 times behind the net. The last 60 times the Wild have faced a team off scoring five goals or more, they are an amazing 39-12-9 to the UNDER. This series has followed these trends as only one in the last 10 meetings has managed to go over the total, so I'm backing the UNDER here. ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
