Nhl Picks Free - April 29, 2010We return to the NHL playoffs ice today with a pair of picks from the Detroit vs. San Jose opener. Over the last week and a half, our NHL picks are 31-18 for 63% and +30 units.
![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Red Wings have made it to the last two Stanley Cup Championship rounds, but this team isn't quite as talented as what we have seen in the last two years. Detroit was extended to seven games vs. the Coyotes in the first round, uncharacteristically dropping two at home, which may be an omen of things to come. The Sharks have one of the best home ice advantages in all of hockey and after coming out unfocused in game one, they took care of business to the tune of an 18-9 scoring advantage the rest of the series, including 10-2 in the last two. The Red Wings have been tough in the playoffs, but not in this spot as they are 0-5 as a playoffs dog of +110 to +150 in their last five. The Sharks, at 74-30 in their last 104 at home, made the mistake of coming out soft vs. Colorado and won't do it here. San Jose gets this one.Game: Detroit at San Jose (9:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on San Jose -1.5 goals +205 (puckline) (risk 2 to win 4.1) The Red Wings were extended by Phoenix, while the Sharks really bit hard wrapping up the series vs. the Avalanche with a 10-2 scoring advantage in the last two. The Sharks have won big with high frequency as thy own 32 wins by 2 goals or more on the season. They will be prepared here after the game one debacle vs. Colorado. Lesson learned. I'll ride with San Jose on the puckline. Results: 1-1 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
