![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Philadelphia Flyers have had no problems vs. the New Jersey Devils and have taken a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. It hasn't just been this series however, as the Flyers have taken ownership of their games vs. the Devils, winning six of the last seven meetings. They have outscored the Devils 23-14 during the stretch. They will be playing loose here and going for the closeout, means a great deal of rest before series two, and I look for the Flyers to win this one and close out the Devils.Game: Philadelphia at New Jersey (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Philadelphia +1.5 goals -220 (puckline) (risk 4 to win 1.8) The Philadelphia Flyers continue their mastery over the Devils, taking a 3-1 lead in the series. They have now posted wins in six of the last seven meetings, outscoring the Devils by 1.67 goals per game in the six wins. I am looking for their "A" game here to close out the series and rest, and with the Devils just 1-5 in their last six quarterfinal games, I look for the Flyers to win and will take them on the puckline.Game: Ottawa at Pittsburgh (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 units on Pittsburgh -290 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 1.7) Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 +100 (risk 4 to win 4) The Senators gave the Penguins a huge wake-up call in game one with their 5-4 road win over the Penguins. It definitely impacted the intensity the Penguins came out with in the last three games. They have not only won three in a row, but they have won by a combined 6 goals, and that becomes even more impressive with two of the wins coming on the road. The Senators sport a 6-20 road mark vs. teams .600 or better, says that they bow-out in five here. I'll go with Pittsburgh here. The last eight times the Senators have allowed 5 goals or more, only two of them made it over the total in their next game. I look for this one to also play UNDER the total.Game: Ottawa at Pittsburgh (7:15 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Pittsburgh -1.5 goals +110 (puckline) (risk 2 to win 2.2) Perhaps the best thing that could have happened to the Pittsburgh Penguins was losing game one to the Senators in this series. They have awakened and delivered three straight wins, two of which coming on the road. I expect them to jump all over the Senators here and close out this series in five games. They have won the last three games by an average of 2 goals per game and I see another 2+ goal win here, so I’ll back the Penguins on the puckline.Game: Chicago at Nashville (8:25 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Chicago -150 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.7) I don't think anyone would have looked at this series and saw the Predators up 2-1. The Blackhawks are too good to fall down 3-1 in this series. When you have a great team in a desperate situation, more often than not they rise up and give their best game of the series. The Predators are just 4-11 in their last 15 playoff games as a dog. That says that the Blackhawks get this one.Game: Chicago at Nashville (8:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 1 unit on Chicago -1.5 goals +210 (puckline) (risk 1 to win 2.1) The Blackhawks are a good team that will be playing with a little extra for this one as they are down in the series 2-1. I expect their "A" game here, and quite frankly that game is definitely 2 goals better than the Predators, who are now 4-11 in their last 15 posted as a playoff underdog. I'm going with Chicago on the puckline in this one.Game: Colorado at San Jose (10:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 units on San Jose -240 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 2.1) Over the years, The Shark Tank has been a graveyard for visitors. Although this moneyline looks laden with chalk, it isn't close to the true odds of this team winning here where they have established a huge advantage. Put them on their home ice vs. a team with a losing road record and that advantage reaches its peak. The Sharks have turned in a 39-12 mark when playing here vs. a team with a losing road record. I'll go with San Jose in this one.Game: Colorado at San Jose (10:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on San Jose -1.5 goals +130 (puckline) (risk 2 to win 2.6) San Jose has been a dominating force in the NHL when playing here at The Shark Tank. They have been an even a better team when playing here against a team with a losing road record. That mark stands at 39-12 for the Sharks at home vs. a team with a losing record on the road. I'll use this advantage to play the Sharks on the puckline here. Results: 6-3 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
