Nhl Picks Handicapping - April 19, 2010We took the spilt last night on the NHL ice. We are 44-29 for 60% over the last month in NHL for +32 units. Today we are back with a trio of premium hockey picks including a pair of 4-unit selections.
![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Los Angeles Kings have become more than the name suggests. They have also become the kings of extended ice time. Los Angeles has now played seven straight games that have been decided in overtime or a shootout, running the tally to 25 extra-session games on the season. This makes for appealing value on the plus side of the puckline. The Kings have dropped just three games in their last 20 played by more than a single goal, and just two on home ice. I'll go with the Kings here on the puckline.Game: Buffalo at Boston (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Boston -140 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.9) The Boston Bruins got the game they needed in Buffalo which swings the home ice advantage into their favor. This is a team that struggled duplicating what they achieved a year ago, but since Tuukka Rask has been between the pipes a lot more frequently, they have been much better. Rask has allowed just 13 goals in his last eight behind the net, or 1.63 per contest. The Bruins should be playing with confidence, getting back on home ice. The Sabres have been a poor team posted as a dog where they stand at 5-12 over their last 17. The Bruins have taken five of their last six quarterfinals playoff games, so I'll give them the edge and back them here.Game: Buffalo at Boston (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: 1 unit on Boston -1.5 goals +230 (puckline) (risk 1 to win 2.3) Success on the minus side of the puckline is predicated on having confidence on the defensive side - more importantly, the goaltending. The Bruins have the hot hand right now with Tuukka Rask as he has been stopping just about everything, allowing just 8 goals in his last eight games, or just 1.6 per game. The Bruins tallied 5 in game two in Buffalo, and the once silent offense has been clicking to the tune of 4+ goals in three of their last four games. That makes for a defense/offense combination pinning value on the puckline, so I'll back the Bruins here at -1.5. Results: 2-1 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
