Thanks to last night's performance, our NHL picks are 42-27 for 61% and +32 units over the last month. Today we are back ont he NHL ice with four more premium picks including a 4-unit play.
![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: For the first time in 17 seasons, the Red Wings are playing at home in game three of a first-round playoff series. With their win in game two, they have regained home ice in this series. This is a No. 5 seed but one that should not be taken lightly in the playoffs. At home this season they were 25-15, holding opponents to just 2.3 goals per game. Phoenix on the other hand was actually outscored on the road this year. Detroit knows about using momentum to their advantage. Over the past three seasons, the Wings are an incredible 24-4 at home after a 3+ goal win. I like Detroit at home here.Game: Phoenix at Detroit (3:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 1 unit on Detroit -1.5 goals +160 (puckline) (risk 1 to win 1.6) The Red Wings won their last game by 3 goals on their opponent's ice. I think they have a good shot at getting another 2+ goal win here, this time at home. When coming off a win by 4+ goals in their last game, the Red Wings are 45-10 at home the past three seasons. Now that they have stolen home-ice advantage, they will go for the jugular and try to keep Phoenix down. I am backing the Red Wings on the puck line here.Game: Pittsburgh at Ottawa (6:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Pittsburgh -130 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 2.3) Ottawa delivered a wake-up call to the Penguins in game one. Sidney Crosby and the Pens responded in game two, holding Ottawa to just one goal and making sure they didn't go down 2-0. Now they must go on the road to try to regain home-ice. With Andy Sutton's hit on Jordan Leopold fresh in their minds, I don't think we risk another Penguins let down here. That means it should come to skill level and Pittsburgh has the advantage. This team is 22-19 on the road this season, so they know they can win away from home. I like the Penguins to get the win here.Game: Pittsburgh at Ottawa (6:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 1 unit on Pittsburgh -1.5 goals +230 (puckline) (risk 1 to win 2.3) I think Pittsburgh has a chance at a big road win in this game. They are motivated by their scare after going down 0-1 and they are motivated by what many considered a dirty hit last game by Andy Sutton. The Pens were caught sleeping in game one but I don't think they let their guard down again this series. If they bring their "A" game, they can win big here. I am putting a small play on the Penguins to win on the puck line. Results: 2-2 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
