![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: It’s hard to believe that the Bruins who were deadly at home a year ago, have a losing record with the season winding down to the final few days. The problem is the 50 goals they have allowed on home ice over the last 17 played here, which is 3 per contest. That may spell some trouble here as the Sabres have had a lot of explosive games lately. Buffalo has reached or topped the 5-goal mark in five of their last 11 games - good enough to reach this total by themselves. They are also 9-3-1 to the OVER as a dog in this range. The last four games in this series played in Boston have failed to stay under the total as well. I like this one to go OVER the total.Game: Montreal at Carolina (7:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -130 (risk 3 to win 2.3) The Canadiens have been playing better and a look behind the net, and the defensive end supplies some reasoning. The Habs have allowed just 22 goals in their last 11 games, or just 2 per contest. It has kept them in games despite scoring just 18 in their last nine, or 2 per contest as well. It has led to eight UNDERs in their last 10 played. Carolina had an explosive 8 goals in their last game, but that doesn't negate the fact that they tallied just 14 in their previous seven. The Hurricanes will be off of one day of rest, which has seen them go 10-1 to the UNDER in their last 11 in this situation. These teams have played low as a rule of their recent history with six of the last seven going UNDER. I like this one to do the same, so I’m playing the UNDER here.Game: New Jersey at Florida (7:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 5 -120 (risk 3 to win 2.5) The Devils have played well on the road for most of the season. One good reason is that they have reached the 3-goal mark in half of their road games. The Panthers have been just a break-even team at home this season. One of their problems has been the fact that they have allowed 4 goals or more on the season in 30 games, and overall have done so in three of their last four, and 42 over their last 12 games or 3.5 per contest. It stands to reason that New Jersey, and their road prowess, will reach the 3+ mark here, making this game a likely candidate for the OVER, which is my call in this one. ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
