Nhl Prediction - April 07, 2010

We have been hot on the NHL ice with 14 out of 15 winning days over the last two weeks. During that time we have rocked it out to the tune of 32-9 for 78% and +67.4 units. We are now 306-219 for +178.9 units over the past five and a half months with our NHL picks.  Today we have two premium picks, including a 4 unit selection.

Today's NHL Hockey Picks:

Game: St. Louis at Chicago (8:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 5.5 -120 (risk 4 to win 3.3)

The Chicago Blackhawks went through what even the best teams endure and that was a flat spot that saw them drop seven of nine games. They are back in full force, led by the goal tending of Antti Niemi. Niemi has been brilliant along with the Chicago defense, allowing just four goals in the last four games, or one per contest. The Blues Chris Mason has not been too shabby himself as he has allowed just nine goals in his last six games, or just 1.5 per contest. These teams have a history of low scoring games with seven of the last nine going UNDER, and that includes each of the last four played in Chicago. I'll go with the UNDER here.

The Phoenix Coyotes have become a decidedly UNDER team, having registered a 16-7 mark to the UNDER in their last 23 games. That includes just seven of the 23 games scoring more than five total goals. The same can be said for the Predators with ten of their last 13 failing to reach the total. That includes three shutouts and not a single opponent scoring more than three goals. Coyotes have played 33-11-7 to the UNDER after allowing two goals or less in their previous game. This series has seen five of the last seven play UNDER, and I like the UNDER here.
