Hockey Game Predictions - April 07, 2009Last night, we posted a monster night on the NHL ice as we finished 3-0 for +13.1 units, including a 5-unit winner on Ottawa as a +155 dog! Over the last three days our NHL run is 89%, 8-1 for +26.6 units. Tonight we are back with three more picks including another big dog play. ![]() Today's NHL Hockey Picks: The Ottawa Senators have been pretty much a breakeven team all season, but that certainly hasn't been the case on home ice where they sport a 21-12-6 mark. Overall, they have been a hot team at 12-5 in their last 17 games. What they have done at home has been perfect since their last home loss all the way back to March 3, they have since won eight straight. The Bruins have rolled to six straight wins themselves, although mostly at home. Their resume is a not-so sweet 3-7 in their last 10 on road ice, and they have been just 1-4 in their last five against a team with a winning home record. The Senators are dominating good road teams, bringing in a stellar 21-8-2 mark in their last 31 home games, against a team with a .600 or higher road winning percentage. Ottawa is a live dog here and I'll back them in this one.Game: Dallas at Minnesota (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 5 -120 (risk 3 to win 2.5) The Wild has become more offensive lately as they have averaged three goals a game over their last six, with 18 put through the net - something it took them none games to achieve previously. Dallas has suddenly produced 17 goals in their last five games - something it took them 10 games to achieve previous to the offensive run. This one is set low, based on what these teams have done on the season, but they are not playing that way now. It is a good spot to catch the oddsmakers sleeping, and make OVER the call in this one.Game: Los Angeles at Edmonton (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Los Angeles +190 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 7.6) The Kings haven't made winning a habit and have been inconsistent offensively for the better part of the season, but that hasn't stopped them from cashing in eight times on the season as a road dog of +250 or more. Edmonton certainly hasn't made hay on home ice this season as they are above just the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference in home-ice futility. Certainly their have been no "gimmies" for the Oilers just because they are on home ice, and overall they sport just a 3-8 record in their last 11 against a team with a losing record. This is a lofty, inflated price on the Oilers, which throws the pendulum of value in favor of the Kings and they get the call. Results: 2-1 ![]() NHL Hockey Picks Resources:
