We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).

Game: New Jersey at Philadelphia (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Philadelphia +1.5 -137 (risk 3 to win 2.2)
Philadelphia, as bad as they started, has turned things around a lot (relatively since the midway point). In the first half of the season, they were out-scored 39-70 (-1.23 per game). In the second half, they have been outscored 45-50 (-0.36 per game). On the road, New Jersey has covered the -1.5 puck line just twice in nine games vs. teams with losing records. At home, Philadelphia is 17-14 to +1.5 vs. winning teams. But, in the second half of the season, they are 10-4 when getting +1.5! Take the Flyers here getting +1.5 on the puckline.
Game: Dallas at Columbus (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Dallas -174 (risk 3 to win 1.7)
Dallas needs to keep winning if they have any hope of catching Nashville who is four points ahead of the Stars and holding the fourth home-ice spot. The Blue Jackets have been outscored 15-4 in a four-game losing streak to as the season winds down. Dallas has won 16 of the last 21 vs. Columbus. Home underdogs that allow 3+ goals per game after two straight blowout losses by 3+ goals are just 13-57-13 (19%) over the past decade in second-half play. A motivated Dallas team should steamroll a Columbus squad that has packed it in.
Game: Pittsburgh at Ottawa (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Ottawa -206 (risk 2 to win 1)
Ottawa is playing with double-revenge here and they will be looking to set the tone for what may be an upcoming quarterfinal matchup. At home the Senators have won 25 of 35 by an average score of 3.6 to 2.4. They are hot right now having averaged 4.0 goals for and 2.2 goals against over their past five games. This being their last home game, and coming off a loss, they will want to show up here even more to avoid three straight losses to Pittsburgh in front of the home crowd.
Game: Toronto at New York Islanders (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Toronto -124 (risk 2 to win 1.6)
Both of these teams are trying to catch Montreal for the last playoff spot in the East. New York has won the last two in this series so we look for Toronto to come out strong with revenge in mind. The Maple Leafs are 7-3 on the road this season revenging two losses as a favorite. New York's offense has been weak of late and Toronto has been scoring lights out (3.6 per game over their last five). We look for Toronto to end New York's playoff hopes tonight.
Game: Detroit at Chicago (8:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Detroit -230 (risk 3 to win 1.3)
Detroit hasn't lost to Chicago sinec December 28, 2003 (14 straight wins). A win here moves them closer to their third straight Presidents' Trophy. Chicago has won two straight but the only impressive win there was their 3-2 win over Nashville. The other two game at the hands of Columbus and Edmonton and don't mean much. With Mike Babcock at the helm, Detroit has only lost one road game out of fifteen when favored by -200 or more. The Red Wings are off a shutout win over Columbus and they are 14-2 the past two seasons following a shutout win. At home against top offensive teams, Chicag is 6-21 the past two seasons. Chicago just 1-10 at home this season vs. teams that have scored 100+ points. In those games, they have been out-scored 16-38.
Game: Los Angeles at Phoenix (10:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Phoenix -124 (risk 3 to win 2.4)
Phoenix has won six of hte last seven home games vs. the Kings. The Kings have only won 11 of 40 road games this season and they are on a five game skid. In those five games, they have lost by an average score fo 1.6 to 4.2. Phoenix has also been on a bad slide but they aren't nearly as bad at home as LA is on the road. Underdogs allowing 2.9+ goals per game coming off three straight losses by 2+ goals are just 15-64 (19%) over the last five seasons in second-half play. LA is 5-12 vs. terrible teams this season (those outscored by 0.5+ goals per game). Take teh Coyotes.
Game: Calgary at San Jose (10:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on San Jose -147 (risk 4 to win 2.7)
Calgary looks to clinch the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with a win here but it's not a must-win. They clinch the berth if Colorado loses to Vancouver. And, there's still one more game to be played after this for both Calgary and Colorado. San Jose is also playing with motivation as they try to win the Pacific Division. They are trailing Anaheim by three points. They are just two points behind Nashville for home-ice in the first round. Calgary is just 13-26 on the road this season including 1-9 after a high scoring game (7+ total goals). They are also 1-9 following a one goal loss. On the road they are 3-13 vs. winning teams and 1-9 vs. very good offenses (3+ goals per game).
