Today's NFL Football Picks:
Game: Minnesota at San Francisco (Sunday 8/22 8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Minnesota +2.5 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)
Brad Childress of the Vikings has now won four of five preseason games, and a look at last week confirms he is out to win. While most teams are rotating in three or four QBs with the starter getting very few snaps, Childress rode Sage Rosenfels to a 23-34 game, good for 310 yards and 3 TDs despite having a huge lead the whole game. This sets the stage for another mismatch. Mike Singeltary is an intense guy and is 4-1 here, but let's review. He beat Indianapolis who is always a no-show for these games, and last year posted a 3-1 mark. But that's straight-up. His ATS record last season? 1-3. Getting a Vikings team plus 3 points with a coach that went most of the game with a seasoned QB gives me confidence on the Vikings here.
Game: Arizona at Tennessee (Monday 8/23 8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 2 units on Arizona +4 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)
Jeff Fisher has been around a long time coaching the Titans. While he has amassed a 29-25 straight up record, he is 10-12 ATS the past five seasons (including the ATS win last week). Coming off a win, and instilled as a favorite is not the time to back him and his team. He is just 3-8 ATS in his last 11 posted as a favorite. Home favorites of 3.5 or more have covered just 45% of the last 300+ games during the NFLX and they are at their worst in week two. I like the Cards in this one.

It would appear that the Steelers dominated the Lions at home last week as they whipped-up on them pretty good in a 23-7 final. A closer look reveals that simply wasn't the case, as the Lions outg...

The Colts have a lethal offense behind Peyton Manning in the regular season and their offense is set with little need to test things out. There seems to be an organizational policy that when the games...

The Colts have been one of the NFL's biggest no shows when it comes to the NFLX, but I like them here. How can we turn down points on a home dog? Home underdogs have performed very well historical...

This matchup reminds me of the old movie "Trading Places", as the New Orleans Saints are the team entering here as defending Super Bowl Champs and not the New England Patriots. Bill Belichic...
