Ncaa Football Predictions - November 18, 2008We kick off week 13 with a pick in the Tuesday night game... ![]() Today's NCAA Football Picks: Kent State has not had a lot of success as they have lived and died by their talented QB Julian Edelman. Edelman leads the team with over 1,000 yards rushing and has thrown for 1,580 yards as well. The problem is he has nearly as many interceptions (11) as touchdowns (12). Tonight he will be facing the top defense in the MAC in Northern Illinois, ranked #26 in the country. This team has held opponents to 18.7 ppg and six opponents on turf to 11.5 ppg! It's true that the Golden Flashes have pushed the points against much lesser defenses. But the MAC has only three teams in the top half of the NCAA on defense, and Kent has played just three games against teams in the top half all season, having managed a poor 13 ppg. The Kent defense is not very good, but they will also be facing one of the MAC's worst offenses as the Huskies rankjust 83rd in the NCAA. The Huskies average just 22.6 ppg on the road while Kent has held opponents to 23.6 here at home. I expect the game plan here will be to contain Edelman and force him into mistakes and the Flashes just don't have anyone else to pick up the pieces. N. Illinois will be content to grind it out against a soft Kent front seven, and keep the clcok and chains moving with Edelman off the field. I like this one to go UNDER the total. ![]() NCAA Football Picks Resources:
