Free Basketball Picks - November 25, 2009
We posted another winning night on the college b-ball floor going 3-1 last night. We are now 10-1 (91%) over the last four days for +24 units. We are also 2-0 on the season with our 5-unit CBB picks and feature another today.

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Texas San Antonio at Eastern Kentucky (6:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Eastern Kentucky -4 (-110) (risk 5 to win 4.6)
The Roadrunners have surprised opening 4-0. They also own a win over Iowa, but that doesn't appear to mean as much as usual as the Hawkeyes also lost to Duquesne and are way down this season. They are getting balanced scoring with five players at 10 points or more, but the PG Devin Gibson is making bad decisions with 16 assists, but with 15 turnovers already. Eastern Kentucky played over their head facing a Pitt team that is always tough and lost by just 11. The Colonels have been under the radar covering all three of their lined games. The Colonels are moving the ball well with four players already with 10 or more assists and they have turned the ball over just 31 times in four games. That will be the difference here against the careless Roadrunners who simply have too many empty possessions. Eastern Kentucky gets the call.
Game: Duquesne at Western Carolina (7:25 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Western Carolina +2.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Something will give here as both of these teams are off to good starts to open the season. Duquesne owns an impressive win over Iowa, but really struggled their last time on the floor vs. little-known Arkansas-Monticello, needing overtime to steal a two-point win. The Catamounts have taken three of four and lost, as expected, to Texas. What might be noteworthy here is that the Dukes beat Binghamton by 18 points while the Catamounts blew them out by 30, a common opponent, with the results very appealing to the Catamounts. Melquan Bolding won't play for the Dukes as after scoring 25, he broke his wrist and will miss four weeks or so, leaving a hole in the offense. The Dukes are not very impressive off a straight-up win at just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 and without Bolding, they could be in trouble here. I’m going with Western Carolina.
Game: Wyoming at Denver (9:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Denver -220 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 1.8)
The Denver Pioneers have played some good basketball against some tough opponents to open the season. Northern Iowa, who has the makings of an NCAA Tournament team, only beat the Pioneers by six points, and they beat the always tough Montana Grizzlies. The Pioneers are shooting the ball extremely well with the top five scorers all at 46% or above. They have also been knocking down three-pointers across the board as with their top five scorers, four are hitting 47% or higher from deep. The Cowboys have had mixed results, but all three games have been at home where they are always tough and this will be their first test against a team that can really fill it. The Pioneers are delivering the cash at home with a 19-8 ATS mark in their last 27, and I like them to at least get the W in this one, and will play them on the moneyline.
