Bracket Predictions - November 19, 2008

We hit 75% yesterday for a +4.7 units adding to a total of +15.4 units over the last three days.  Today we have two 4 units plays.

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: North Carolina Wilmington at Wake Forest (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Wake Forest -22 (+100) (risk 4 to win 4)

Wake threw a perfect game in their opener with all five starters balanced in double-figures and a pair of double-doubles thrown in as well. Although the competition will be a bit tougher tonight, the results should be the same. NC Wilmington took a big hit as the departures of Carter, Fountain,Kuljanin, and Hendley took 54 points a game with them. Tough to step up in competition early in the season with a lot of inexperienced players away from your own building. Seahawks want to play up-tempo, but against this Wake team that might be suicide because it takes playing both ends of the floor to pull it off and Seahawks, allowing 98 a game to the likes of App. St and Troy, doesn't bode well here. Demon Deacon's in a runaway.

The Villonova Wildcats have been picked to finish in the middle of the Big East Conference but that certainly isn't a slight to their talent, rather a statement about the strength of the Big East. Wildcats serving notice early that they are a player in the Big East with resounding wins vs Albany by 18 and Fordham by 39. Nova has six players scoring double-digits, so options are many and suffocating defense holding two opponents to 38.8% from the floor. Purple Eagles will miss Charron Fisher in this one as his 27.6ppg has graduated. Niagara is all about offense, but will meet a foe that is quicker and more athletic, and won't be able to trade baskets. Purple Eagles are foreign to this level of competition as the last two seasons out of conference slates have been filled with cupcakes. Rude awakening here, I'll take Nova in a big win.
