Game: Massachusettes at Syracuse (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Syracuse -360 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 1.1)
Pick: 4 units on Game Total OVER 165.5 -110 (risk 4 to win 3.6)
UMass is just 10-7 away from home, allowing 78.8 ppg. At home, the Cuse is 16-5, producing more points per game and allowing fewer than the Minutemen. UMass is coming off a 68-63 win over Akron. The past two seasons, the Minutemen are just 2-7 straight-up off a win as a favorite in which they did not cover the spread. They are also 1-6 SU off a win by 6 or less. While the spread is in question, the outcome is not. The home team wins this game. This has the makings of an NBA style game as both teams come in running, especially against an opponent that also likes to get up and down the floor. When these teams met early in the season they produced the highest scoring non-OT game of the season for both teams at 207. UMass has had six games vs teams ranked in the top 40 in scoring, and those games have resulted in total points scored of 189, 154, 174, 185, 184 and 207. The average was 182.2 ppg. Syracuse has been no different. They have played four games with teams ranked in the top 40 in points per game. Those games have produced 181, 207, 180 and 186 points, or an average of 188.5 ppg. Combined these teams have averaged 184.7 ppg in these same types of games. This total initially looks high, but in reality it is about 20 points too low. Syracuse on the moneyline and the OVER here.
